FullTilt Poker, Fertitta Interactive strike online poker deal
Written by Alice Beamont on April 2, 2011 – 4:38 amStory: Online gaming giant FullTilt Poker and Fertitta Interactive, which is co-owned by the family that founded Station Casinos, have struck a partnership to operate an Internet poker website if the activity gains federal approval.
The agreement covers only potential federal legislation for Internet poker, said Tom Breitling, who co-owns Fertitta Interactive with brothers Frank Fertitta III and Lorenzo Fertitta and his longtime business partner Tim Poster.
In an email, Breitling said the partnership only backs federal legislation, not Assembly Bill 258, which is currently being debated in the Nevada Legislature and authorizes the state to legalize Internet poker.

New Internet Gambling Bill Introduced in U.S. Congress
Written by Alice Beamont on March 21, 2011 – 5:50 pmMICHAEL JONES : MARCH 17TH, 2011
Just a few months after an online poker bill failed to make much progress in the United States Congress, a new piece of legislation was introduced today.
The bill is apparently identical to H.R. 2267, an online gambling bill that passed the House Financial Services Committee last summer but did not reach the House floor. An effort in December by Sen. Harry Reid to make progress on a poker-only bill failed, as well.
The new bill, however, has a bit of an advantage over 2267, which was introduced by Rep. Barney Frank, a Democrat. The bill is called the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act and was introduced by John Campbell (R-Calif.).

Internet poker bill scores a mixed reaction
Written by Alice Beamont on March 20, 2011 – 8:03 amStory: Legalizing Internet poker within the state’s borders is part of a wide-ranging gambling bill pending in the Iowa Senate.
The legislation would permit poker players to put cash into special accounts held by Iowa casinos, then log on to the password-protected sites from their computers. Out-of-state gamblers and those under the age of 21 wouldn’t be allowed to play.
John Pappas, executive director of the Poker Players Alliance in Washington, D.C., which claims 1.2 million members, said he prefers to see Congress pass an Internet gambling bill that would legalize it nationwide.
