Winner Of Peter Eastgate’s 2008 WSOP Bracelet Looking To Help Charities With It
Written by Elizabeth Officer on February 6, 2012 – 7:34 pm
You might remember back in November of 2010, when 2008 World Series of Poker main event winner Peter Eastgate auctioned off his bracelet, raising over $140,000 for charity. The winner of that auction, William Haughey, talked to a poker news website to discuss the bracelet and revealed how he wants to work with the WSOP organization to arrange a charity event where he’d match any money raised, up to $1,000,000.
Haughey’s got a history of such generousness: the British businessman (who has made his fortune through his own City Refrigeration Holdings) has donated over £5 million to various charities and thinks that the bracelet might be an “in” to raising more for them through the world of poker.
When asked how he was planning on doing that, Haughey responded: “Since I purchased the bracelet, I’ve never had it on and I never have my picture taken with it.

4,500-chip, four-color starting stack at Stratosphere.
The Stratospheres quaint 10-table poker room sits in the back of the casino, past a row of slot machines, craps tables, another row of slot machines, down the ramp past Roxy’s Diner, near the escalators to the Top of the World restaurant just before the Double Down Pit and Back Alley Bar. On Thursday, there was a sole 1-2NL table of action about 30 minutes before the nightly tournament.
Youd hardly know that this room has supposedly become the new Sahara when it comes to Las Vegas most popular small buy-in dailies with the 7pm event drawing consistent fields of 50 players or more.
I approached the podium and purchased a seat for the event. T

After a terrible losing streak last weekend, Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom took a break at 16:00 on Monday. It didn’t take long before people started speculating in whether or not the young swede had cleaned out his PokerStars account. But at 01:00 am on Tuesday he returned to the $50/$100 and $100/$200 Omaha tables and continued playing.
Things went much better for him then, and after about 3,600 hands against several regulars at the nosebleed tables he got away with a $560,000 profit.
