Councilmember Wants Online Gambling Overturned

Written by Elizabeth Officer on July 19, 2011 – 3:39 pm

It looks like at least one councilmember wants to overtun the law which made online gambling legal in Washington. The councilman,  Tomy Well is a representative of the Ward 6 District. He is planning to introduce legislation that would put an end to internet-based gambling in Washington D.C., before it gets going.

Online gambling in became legal in Washington when it was added to a budget bill that  passed  and became law.

Hoewver, even with that victory, there were still some people who believe that it is wrong to gamble online and some are starting to speak up and are looking to find any loophole they can, in order ot overturn it.

Wells was not pleased with how online gambling became legal in Washignton. He stated that  Its not good government. Its not transparent,

No word on wehether or not Councilmember Watts will be receive any support from his colleagues to get the law overturned.  As of right now Well’s colleagues aren’t saying much.
