You will have to pick your moments when to shove with Q 9 or K4 to steal the blinds.

If you don’t then the blinds will wipe you out sooner rather than later and you will be shoving all in with 2 7 os.

Remember, it isn’t over until you have no chips. If you take a big hit and are basically wiped out it can still not be over.  Taking a big hit playing heads up left one player with $860 in chips against the now chip leader with $20000+. The $860 chip stack finished first.

Of course they got lucky, that much is obvious.  They had no choice but to shove o on the first few hands, they couldn’t cover the blinds to start with.  However, maybe going all in on hands 6 or 7 would have resulted in them losing but having the ability to show patience resulted in the win.

Too often players just shove 5x in a row and then eventually they lose.  While you may have no choice in shoving the first 4 times maybe stopping to take a breath on the fifth hand will be the difference between winning and finishing second.

The aim of online poker isn’t about winning or losing it’s about giving yourself the best chance to get back as much money as you can.  Playing “just to win,” is more bingo than poker.
