Phil Ivey takes down the Aussie Millions 2012 Super High Roller event

Phil Ivey again shows why he is one of, if not the, best players in the world. Today he won the $250,000 buy-in 2012 Aussie Millions Super High Roller event for $2 million. According to the Hendon Mob “All-time money list” this win put Ivey into second place at just shy of $16 million in career live poker tournament earnings. He pulled just ahead of Daniel Negreanu ($14.9 million) and is behind only Erik Seidel, who is sitting at $16.9 million.

alberto ka Wins PokerStars TCOOP Event 19

In just under two hours, PokerStars user alberto ka managed to rake in $90,728.44 during his TCOOP Event 19 win. The tournament, which featured the standard No Limit Holdem, was played at Hyper Turbo speed.

So far, the Turbo Championship of Online Poker has been a smashing success for PokerStars. In Event 19 alone, some 2,724 players ponied up the necessary $210.80 buy in, bringing the total prize pool up to $574,219.20. As with several earlier events, this figure represented almost a doubling of the guarantee (which, in this case, was $300,000).

It wasnt just the amateurs who enjoyed the Hyper Turbo action, either.

Kallllle Wins 2011 PokerStars WCOOP Main Event

The 2011 World Championship of Online Poker has come to an end.  With more than $40,000,000 in prizes handed out over the course of 62 events, the 2011 WCOOP was one of the biggest tournament series of all time.  For three weeks some of the best tournament players in the world battled it out in huge events with gigantic buy-ins.  Tournaments like the $10,300 buy-in 8-game championship, $2,100 HORSE tournament, and $5,000 Main Event tested all of their skills.  The final event was the biggest and best of them all. More than 1,600 players ponied up the $5,000 entry fee for the chance at more than $1,000,000 in first-place money.

2011 WSOP Event #35: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six-Handed

One of the best PLO tournament players in the world now has his second WSOP gold bracelet in the game. Former math teacher Jason Mercier defeated a field of 507 in the $5,000 PLO six-handed event. He added $619,000 to his career earnings which now stand at nearly $6 million.Finishing runner-up in the event was another Florida resident, Hans Winzeler ($383,000). WSOP first-timer Mike McDonald reached his first Vegas final table with a 6th place finish good for $73,000.
